Global View Manager Features
In a Multi-Site environment all Coronado Multi-Protocol Cloud Bridges communicate with the Global View Manager for critical information. The Global View Manager acts like a “traffic cop” for file locking, single-file instance storage and advanced global functionality. For example, a file uploaded to the cloud in Chicago would be immediately available and viewed in New York and any user in New York could immediately download the file.
The Global View Manager allows for monitoring of all file opens, file closes, file renames and the deletion of files by logging this information with the Active Directory user. Once saved, tools such as Splunk can be used to move the data into a more sophisticated security monitoring program.
Many corporate workflows require large files to be moved across regions of the world. The BridgeSTOR Global View Manager allows for global watch folders by informing Multi-Protocol Cloud Bridges to pre-cache files for immediate availability of the file. This is particularly useful when offices are in different time zones and administrators would like data synced before users request the data.
Global View Managers may be placed in different regions of the world allowing for quick access by local users while still maintaining a single Global View. All File metadata is saved in the cloud storage and the Global View Managers use a sophisticated communication method to maintain common availability for all new and deleted files from the cloud environment.
