S3, a REST storage protocol was originally developed by Amazon, has become a de-facto standard in Cloud Storage and is currently supported by Amazon, Microsoft, Google and others. Although S3 makes it easy to integrate with your web browser, it poses challenges for the IT environment because it lacks a true usable file access. The Coronado Multi-Protocol Cloud Bridge solves this problem by exporting S3 and standard file sharing protocols allowing existing applications and s3 applications to seamlessly access Cloud Storage.

Authentication is accomplished by logging in with Active Directory Credentials while Access Control is maintained with Active Directory ACL's. BridgeSTOR also puts you in control of your encryption. You set and maintain your AES-256 bit password which is maintained inside your environment and is never sent to BridgeSTOR or the Cloud Storage and all data sent to the Cloud is encrypted in-flight and encrypted at-rest using AES encryption with your password and a secondary XTS programmable password that is created in-flight.
If you have already used the Cloud to store files or backup sessions for your business, or even to store photos, you know that moving files to and from the Cloud can be a slow process. This latency is normal, but it can be frustrating or even deadly when using Cloud Storage for performance-sensitive applications. All Coronado Multi-Protocol Cloud Bridges include file acceleration or you may use the Coronado S3 Acceleration Servers for sending file data quickly to the cloud while reducing user latency. The most-recently-used files are also kept locally in the local cache for quick file recovery. Cached Files are verified before they are downloaded from the Cloud and if the file is no longer valid will be deleted and then updated from the cloud. The primary copy of every file always resides in the Cloud Storage Vendor but having a local cache not only provides a significant performance boost that allows Cloud Storage to be used for more applications it also minimizes download fees.
Cloud Storage has really been designed for reliable disaster recovery. Coronado Multi-Protocol Bridges allow users to save files in a secure offsite Cloud Storage environment. These secure environments don’t help if a file is deleted or a virus attacks the data. Coronado Multi-Protocol Bridges capture all deleted files and move them to a global recycle bin. If a file has been deleted, it may easily be retrieved from the recycle bin by simply dragging and dropping the file back into the system. Microsoft Office and other application versions are also saved in the same recycle bin. Similar to deleted files, it is easy to go into the recycle bin and recover previous versions of the new file.
